Corry Post Office Sees Yearly Growth and Advancement

The Corry post office reports a total annual business gain of 9218.13 with potential promotion to first class status this year. For the year 1912 to 1925 the office earned 27464.87, while the just closed year shows 86814.00. Parcel post in the first 15 days totaled 4098 pieces weighing 12016 pounds with 5463 cents postage. 1097 bulky, 136 fragile, 188 G. O. D. and 66 insured. Registered matter in transit numbered 444. Staff shifts now run eight hours, while clerks and carriers manage rising mail and other duties.

Concord School Set to Open Monday After Closure

Concord School will reopen next Monday with superintendent Wilson announcing all rooms will resume regular work on that date. The smallpox scare has subsided and precautionary measures appear to have prevented further illnesses.

Mitchells Assailant Arraigned In Mayor Toy Mitchell Case

New York April 18 Michael P. Mahoney known as Rose was arraigned before Magistrate Simms for the attempt on Mayor John Pur Toy Mitchell. Identified by authorities, Assistant District Attorney Vidler led the proceedings. Continued on page eight.

Work Train Engineer Hurt In Rail Yard Accident

Michel Marry a well known Pennay vanialroad engineer living on Webi Pleasant Street in thin city was seriously injured yesterday afternoon at Child's crossing north of the Ely where his work train was unloading tie and loaf movers. Harry walked along the train to wake a section man suddenly a heavy tie fell striking him on the head and stunning him. He was taken aboard the work train and then to Clymer where Dr. McCray supplied stitches. He remained on duty today despite his injuries.
