Union employees of Carry Jamestown Mfg Corp plan to walk out at noon tomorrow after two months of negotiations on a new contract. The action, decided at a special meeting, will affect the company’s three plants and begins at the expiration of the current agreement.
Corry school board approved a 9867.72 budget, up 92 percent from last year, raising property taxes two mills from 10 to 12 and maintaining a $7 per capita tax. The plan adds 34,000 in property tax, funds 300 teacher raises for every instructor, and covers 11,947 in district costs plus bond and debt expenses.
The board plans a $95,000 bond issue to fund capital outlay for Wright School music and Hatch Building relight projects, plus Concord School remodeling for slow learners. Bids open Monday, May 12, with interest expected 3 to 3.5 percent. planners set annual interest at $3425 and outline a decade payoff plan.

Titusville Republican B Mahany withdrew from the May primary race for lieutenant governor citing lack of funds to challenge the party backed slate led by Arthur T McGonigle for governor and John M Waller for lieutenant governor. His name remains on the ballot, leaving Walker and Frank C Hilton as the candidates for the nomination on the Stassen ticket.

Spartanburg police investigate a break-in at the OLE mill as thieves entered through a basement window and stole items worth about eight dollars. State Police from the idea barracks are on the case and the theft is timed between 8 p m yesterday and 7 o'clock this morning.
