Driver Hurt As Car Rolls At Sparta

A driver, Calvin W. Eline, 92, suffered a fractured collar bone and possible pelvic fractures when his car rolled several times after failing to make a curve near Alpine Inn south of Spartansburg. Mechanicburg Man Gets 30 Days For Bomb Hoax

Freighter Sinking Off Virginia Coast Leaves 23 Aboard

A 324 foot freighter flying the Lebanese flag sank off the Virginia coast after taking on water. Twenty three aboard were reported as missing with no wreckage found. The ship departed New York for Newport News last Thursday night with scrap iron. The first distress signal came at 12 58 a m. Fingerprints Key In Starved Rock Triple Slaying Probe

Investigators rely on bloody prints found on clothing of two Riverside women murdered at the Starved Rock site. Five or six prints and a thumb print were recovered and may be compared to existing records.
