President Asked to Intercede in Seven Bridge Union Case

United Press dispatch from Washington reports the Twenty Seven Bridge and Structural Iron Workers union of Florida sentenced to Leavenworth. The Supreme Court had heard an appeal and the President was asked to intervene to stay the court mandate. No clear position was reported, and action seems unlikely.

T. D. Collins Dies This Morning in Warren

T. D. Collins a well known lumberman of Nebraska Pa died at his home in Warren this morning around 9 80 oclock. His son Byerall who traveled by special trains from Washington state to be with him arrived before the death. Collins was eighty three years old and recently still active in business matters.

Villa Still Attacks in Sonora Amid Surrounded Forces

San Pedro April 16 United Press reports Villa directly commands a siege in the city with remnants of four combined forces. He claims the federals are in a serious plight and surrounded as he brings up fresh troops from Torreon. Some American newspaper men among the prisoners are said to be traveling with the federals and were ordered treated with consideration.

Senior Trip Ends as Washington Tour Concludes

Erie Woman Killed in Lodge Hall Quarrel

Mrs Nora McBain was shot in the stomach during a quarrel at the Tabatt Lodge rooms in Erie. The incident occurred about three o clock this morning as several women argued. she died at Hamot hospital before aid arrived. Chester McBain, her husband, and Samuel Stanton were held by police for investigation.

Huerta Offers Concessions but Seeks Recognition

In a Foreign Relations Committee session Senator Shively urged a concession by Huerta to recognize the U S flag, while Senator Lodge warned a reciprocal flag nod would be de facto recognition. The committee endorsed Wilson’s Mexico policy but avoided using the word approve. On the Arkansas battleship group, the fleet sails toward Mexican waters at top speed, eyes Tampico by Wednesday noon, with Admiral Badger under full instructions but limited disclosure on powers granted.

Hospital Graduating Exercises At Otie Corry School

Last evening at i. of P. Hall the Otie Corry hospital Training school for Nurses held its annual graduating exercises. Six young Indies received diplomas with a full program including music by Kastor’s Full Orchestra and Keystona Glee Club. Dr. C. C. Waggoner and Mr. B. A. Loveland presented diplomas and pins. social dances followed the ceremony. decorations were provided by Florist Pettit of Bant Muth street.

Ten Dead in Wrecks Off Coast

By Asked Presa New York April 16 three mail schooner Truckley with captain wife and six crew men dead after wrecks off New Jersey coast. Vic schooner bound from Florida with lumber went aground in seventy mile gale. crew saved but several lost. Buckley survivor A Martin, 18, in serious condition at Long Branch Hospital. Standard Oil Co and two other small vessels reported lost during the gale.
