Corry clubs host luncheons and meetings across April
Women from the Corry Country Club and various groups held luncheons and bridge sessions at local venues. Awards went to Katheryn Burgnon from Orange, California and others. Upcoming events include a spring banquet May 4 at 6 30 p m and an April 28 luncheon bridge session hosted by Mrs Evelyn Rodemeyer and Mrs Louise Rickers. Community Aid members met at Mrs Carl Lindburg’s home for a 1 pm luncheon and planned a May 11 meeting. Corry Grange plans degrees for new applicants with Jess Erickson guest speaker April 18. Sparkettes practice at Corry Area High School with rain contingency at Columbus PTA. PTA to hear Bonnie Belcastro on drug and alcohol abuse April 20 at 8 pm. Women’s Temperance Union meets April 18 at 1 30 pm hosted by Mrs Edna Williams. Fishermen’s Breakfast tomorrow 6 11 am at Elgin Beaverdam Fire Hall. Tureen supper at Concord Community Club tonight at 7 30. Belated wedding reception tomorrow 2 6 pm at Corry Moose Lodge for Ronald Schweiger and Mary Ann Gray.

The Moose Lodge hosted St. Thomas Women’s Organization spring Garden Party with chairs Mrs. Phyllis Maloney and Mrs. Roni Bailey. Grand winners were Mary McLean $100 Eileen Farrer $25 and Ray Welden $25. Dozens of individuals received special and individual table awards. The organizers thanked St. Thomas parish members merchants and many volunteers for helping make the event a success.
