Fine Turns On Budget Critics In Harrisburg
Governor Fine assailed budget critics and said Pennsylvania must raise 163 million dollars in new taxes for the next two years. He dismissed an alternative finance plan as a makeshift and proposed a one cent income tax plus a one percent increase in the existing net income tax to cover the shortfall. He released statistics to label the rival plan mythical and said his budget rests on past experience and safe projections.
