Earle Praised as Pennsylvania's Hardest Working Governor
Harrisburg reports Governor George H. Earle is lauded as the hardest working and most efficient chief executive in two decades. Lyman, keeper of the governor’s door, recalls his 1810 watchman role and praises the governor's relentless schedule while noting past governors' long hours but occasional leisure. The feature contrasts Earle's tireless office presence with memories of Fisher, Brumbaugh, Pinchot, Sproul, and others, and hints at evolving leadership by a forthcoming era.
