Unusual Birds Migration Noted In San Juan Capistrano Tale
A clipping from a California daily describes San Juan Capistrano’s old stone church of the Mission destroyed in 1812. Each March 19th thousands of swallows return to nest, a yearly sea-driven migration celebrated by residents. The tale credits legends from the Mission’s founding and notes the swallows’ unique nest defense and local abundance.
