Corry Manis heads the Greenville district event as plans for the county competition unfold. The Erie Central High School girl will represent the county after a contract with Frank G. Jones of Corry for building work valued around $20,000 is finalized, with local foundations and site preparations ongoing.
An Erie Centra High School student will compete in a district VIII National Oratorical Contest at Grantsville High School auditorium. The program features district finalists from multiple counties, a silver cup trophy, and a Pittsburgh Sun sponsorship. Finalists include students from Shyar Grove High, Camridge Springs High, Taft Township High, and several Mercer and Erie county schools. The winner advances to state and then national rounds with travel funded by the sponsors.
