McCord Says He Lacks Direct Knowledge of High Officials’ Involvement
James W. McCord's lawyer Bernard W. Fensterwald says McCord has no direct knowledge that any high level Nixon reelection official knew of plans to wiretap Democratic headquarters. McCord's information mainly came from G. Gordon Liddy who was convicted alongside him. Liddy has refused to testify before the grand jury. Fensterwald noted McCord testified for hours and could lead to indictments of two more people connected to the Watergate plot.
