Union Chief Scores Farm Agencies
William Diamon of Guys Mills accused the Parmau reau Federation of opposing Local 733 Milk Producers Handlers and Producer Distributors Union's drive to organize dairymen for higher prices. About 100 dairymen attended a meeting at APL Temple to discuss farm groups and a possible dairy strike in Western Pennsylvania. Diamon criticized the extension service and Grange, saying they aid nonfarmers, and outlined Local 733’s governance and funding status, noting about 600 of the county’s roughly 900 dairy farmers are members. A strike would require member votes and approval from the Teamster Joint Council.
