Storms sweep from Rockies to Atlantic in April system
Violent early April storms battered a wide swath from the Rockies to the Atlantic, bringing blizzards to Colorado and Wyoming, heavy snow in the Central Plains, and rain and wind along the East. Tornado activity abated in the South as the system moved north with 2 feet potential in South Dakota, 4 to 8 inches in New York and New England. Travel disruptions, floods in Gulf states, and rising Ohio and Mississippi River levels marked the broad weather event.
