Long Beach, Cal, death of famed aviator Cal Rodgers in a homemade monoplane crash is reported. He had flown daily here, carrying passengers, and during a dive near gulls over the breakwater he lost control, struck the water, and died en route to a hospital. His body, identified by authorities, is prepared for burial in Pasadena.
