University of Pennsylvania researchers say heavy TV viewing skews perceptions of danger, portraying a violent world and leading viewers to fear crime more than real life. The study, led by Dr. George Gerbner, notes younger, poorer, and less educated viewers are most affected, with four hours daily enough to distort views of personal risk and safety.
Four lawyers announce a new Corry law firm named McKnight, Orton, Nygard and Barney. Hugh McKnight remains affiliated with North East attorneys but not as a partner there. the firm’s office blends the late Frank McKnight’s and McKnight’s prior space, with support from North East resources.
Bradley Callin and Stanley Callin allege attorney Lee Bailey failed to honor an agreement to represent their son in a Warren County law enforcement conspiracy case. Bailey withdrew October 17 1975 citing lack of polygraph results, withholding over $3 000 of an $9 000 payment and delaying the case. The suit seeks $25 000 in damages and names Warren County officers as involved parties.

Officials at Corry Memorial Hospital announce the purchase of a Fiber Optic Gastro Intestinal device costing 5500 dollars. The system enables direct visualization of the esophagus and upper GI tract, supplementing or replacing some X ray diagnosis, allowing biopsies and removal of foreign bodies when needed. Dr Francisco Tirol notes its modern capabilities and benefits for patient care.
The state transportation department began subsidies totaling 2.8 million dollars in federal funds to subsidize 73 miles of Corry to Spartansburg, Warren to North Warren, and Warren to Kane rail lines after ConRail's takeover threatened closures.
