Abandoned Baby Found In Mine Reported Safe
Police said a day-old girl abandoned in an unused strip mine near Center Township was found in satisfactory condition at Bushline Osteopathic Hospital. The father, 41 year-old Lawrence Hi Abel of nearby Boyer, allegedly abandoned the child Tuesday evening and returned the next day to take the girl to the hospital. He is held in the county jail on abandoning a minor charge.
