South Bay cooking school draws 100 attendees and prizes
More than one hundred housewives from South Bay attended a cooking school sponsored by San Diego Gas and Electric in the Boy Scout Clubhouse last week. Miss Margaret Werner demonstrated electric cookery and a drawing awarded 23 prizes donated by Roberts Electric and Chase Electric of Imperial Beach. A $76,540 school bond issue will be voted in the South Bay Union School District next spring to fund construction furnishings and grounds. An event at Emory School featured remarks by Godfrey G. Berry on funding needs, with a South Bay Community Center dance sponsored by St. Charles Church Altar Society scheduled for Friday.
