Morse Outlines Use Of County Funds

John H. Morse, candidate for county supervisor, spoke to the Coronado Apartment and Hotel Owners association at the library clubhouse Tuesday evening. He argued Coronado is neglected in tax matters and urged using county funds for a bridge or tube to the mainland if the city initiates such a program. He noted Coronado has no county roads for tax spending and few residents go to the county hospital, calling for county help on rubbish disposal with a 5 000 dollar survey previously approved but not reported.

Girl Scout Leaders Elect Mrs Jackson New Chairman

Mrs E E Jackson was elected neighborhood chairman of the local Girl Scout organization Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs John Sheafe Douglas. She will work with a nominating committee to choose assistants for the autumn program. Coronado Scouts will attend Coronado Day June 28 at the San Diego County Fair and Mrs A Spence and Mrs Burton Hervey are preparing an exhibit.

Kiwanis Club Hears San Diego County Tax Collector

Raymond B. Talbot San Diego County Tax Collector spoke at the Kiwanis Club luncheon at La Avenida Cafe on the business of tax collecting. Visitors included S. K. Higgs Hal Bremer Sam Bratten Robert Cadger John Morse and David Bird. Next week's meeting led by Rev. Rhy ton Sanders and President George McMasters announced.

TheCoronado Women's club garden section will visit Shirmer's Orchid Gardens in Fallbrook Thursday next. Mrs J T Talbert handles reservations and coordinates transportation for members.

Coronado Leader Dorothea McCall II For County Committee

Dorothea McCall II, prominent Coronado Republican, will appear on the June 1 primary ballot as a candidate for the San Diego County Republican Central Committee. She serves as vice-president of the County Republican Women's Federation and as program director for the group.

Coronado Art Group Elects Col Bogan Head of Board

Col Samuel Bogan was elected chairman of the Coronado Art Association board at a Friday meeting held at his home. Future shows will be planned three months in advance with committees for each display and strict hanging rules. The board will meet every third Friday at the Bogan home.
