Coronado Chamber backs opposition to ferry rate rise
The Coronado Chamber of Commerce board voted to support the City Council in opposing proposed ferry rate increases. A resolution is planned for May 21 and will be sent to the State Public Utility Commission, the San Diego Chamber, the U S Navy, and Coronado service groups. The group cited burden on merchants and residents as the ferry route is vital, with about 60 percent of traffic from Coronado.

L A Men Fined For Gambling At Hotel Del Coronado
Six Los Angeles men were arrested on gambling charges at a convention near the Hotel del Coronado. City Judge Wattawa fined Harold Leaverton 100 dollars and Robert Hatton 50 dollars, with Theodore Moran forfeit of 100 dollars bail. Others were freed on 100 dollar bail pending trial next week.
