Xmas Gifts Sold At Club Meeting

The Arts and Crafts section of the Coronado Woman's Club displayed and sold hand made articles at the December meeting under Mrs. Edgar E. Wess and Mrs. Francis Grisko. Items included hand printed towels luncheon sets cocktail napkin copper-tooled cigar ette boxes and book ends. The Music Section led by Mrs. Hugh Hadley presented Christmas music and group singing accompanied by tea.

New Ceramics Class at Coronado Fine Arts School

Monty Lewis announces a new ceramics class at the Coronado School of Fine Arts directed by Margaret Loring. Loring, a prominent local ceramic artist, led summer sessions at the Arts Museum in San Diego and has works shown in galleries and Gumps in San Francisco. Registration is open for a session starting January 4, three mornings weekly.

Coronado Women Aid With Christmas Drive and Toy Gifts

Coronado Welfare Committee led by Mrs Edward P Hogan organized a drive yielding 49 boxes weighing 471 pounds for Scotland, plus 800 donated toys repaired by Salvation Army workshops. Weekly gifts reach children at the Chil dren's Convalescent Home since the polio era. Camp Fire Girls and Girl Scouts assisted self sellers and posters.

Christmas To Be Spent in Missouri

Mr. and Mrs. Donald C. Davis of Coronado will leave December 16 for Brookfield Missouri to spend Christmas with Lt. Davis' parents Mr. and Mrs. Randall N. Davis. They plan to return about December 28. Mrs. Davis is the daughter of Mrs. Harry P. Morris of Coronado.

The Imperial Beach post office opens in a Thoddin stucco building on First and Evergreen Avenues with rental boxes and space for growth. San Diego Transit System seeks a route extension to improve service for 80 percent of the area with buses every 36 minutes. E BE Wallace spoke at the Palm City District Chamber meeting, and Imperial Beach Civic Group hosted the South Bay Coordinating Council at the South Bay Community Center. Siamese cat Jen Sen, owned by Mrs. Dorothea Simmons, won best in breed at the Long Beach show as she prepares seven entries for Hollywood.

Requiem High Mass celebrated yesterday morning at Sacred Heart Church for Mrs. Matik Mahon McDonough 66 of 640 J Avenue Coronado who died Saturday in Coronado Hospital Burial followed at Holy Cross cemetery under Ryan Mortuary.
