Coronado Post Office plans an air parcel post rollout starting September 1. Superintendent A A Wilson says air mail parcels will receive the same speedy service as first class letters with eight zone rates from 55 cents per first pound plus 4 cents per extra pound to 80 cents per first pound plus 66 cents per extra pound.

Seven Teens Detained After City Car Crimes Inquiry
Following a month long probe led by Lt Frank Greene and Sgts Ted Brandes and Pop Millar a group of seven teenagers were apprehended this week for a series of car prowls break ins and burglaries. The minors were released to their parents with orders to report to the County Probation Office within days.

Special Election Planned for September 14 on Silver Strand Purchase
The Coronado City Council set September 14 as the date for a special election to approve buying the Silver Strand acreage for 175000 for city general utility use. A second measure, Resolution 1842, would use Navy Amphibious Base rental funds to pay off bond indebtedness if voters approve the purchase. The public health resolution was extended to June 30, 1949.
