James Cooper Wright, a noted watercolorist born in Scotland with a D A from Edinburgh College, conducts the last watercolor seminar at the Coronado School of Fine Arts today. His works reside in the Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and San Diego museums. he formerly taught at the University of Georgia.

20 30 Club Hears Talk on Europe

Monday dinner of the 20 30 Club featured Mrs Melville Brown recounting her Paris Congress trip. She described food shortages clothing rationing and black market conditions in England France and Holland as of last summer. President Dale Shearer said boxes of food and clothing would be sent to the countries mentioned. Bob Dillon served as program chairman.

Area Officers Promote in Navy Rank

Vice Admiral George D. Murray, commander of the First Task Fleet, is recommended for temporary rank of vice admiral by President Truman. Gerald F. Bogan and Brig. Gen. John T. Indian Jewelry Featured At New Hotel Gift Shop

The Del Coronado Gift Shop opens downstairs opposite the Circus room at Hotel del Coronado. Owners Mr and Mrs W M McDaniel run another shop at Santa Rita Hotel in Tu Ab. they have 25 years in the business. They specialize in handmade turquoise and silver Indian jewelry and employ an experienced Indian silversmith. Mr McDaniels belongs to the United States Indian Traders association.

Comdr and Mrs Porter F Bedell and daughter Joan arrived from Alameda and are guests at the Beauregard home 1124 G avenue. Bedell is attached to the USS Antietam. Mrs Beauregard recently returned from a two month visit to Rio de Janeiro.

Young Begonias Grower Builds Family Nursery Dream

Don Wheeler, 15, a Coronado Compass paperboy and high school sophomore, and his father K D Wheeler are building a lath house at 517 Eighth Street. Don raises tuberous begonias with plans to expand the nursery and add a hothouse for Coleus begonias and orchids. He aims to reinvest profits into the growing project.
