Concluding a week long Coronado Safety Campaign sponsored by the VFW and National Safety Council, Pamela Schaefer won first place for the slogan Look for cars dont stare at stars. Janice Kay Aegerter earned second with If you want to live to talk always use the cross walk. Dickie Dillon received third with Dont be in a daze look both ways.

Coronado Lions Club hosts its annual Ladies Night dinner dance tonight in the Crown Room with over 100 members and wives expected. Event features dancing and entertainment in the Terrace Room after dinner. committee includes Earle B. Childs Bernard Patton and Lee Mather with Myron Burns providing Terrace Room management.
Rob ert J. Carle of Coronado reveals his impressions from Washington about Czechoslovakia and Masaryk. He describes 30 percent Communist influence and pressure from Russia. Carle recently earned a Carnegie parchment for Hague studies and attended Lausanne briefly. He plans June stay and September State Department exams.
Cub Scout Pack 75 hosts a 7:30 meeting at the Recreation Center showcasing Indian ceremonial dances tepees and council fires. Den 8 performs a council fire dance supervised by Buz Sawyer while Police Chief George Jordan judges costumes and a candlelight initiation for six new Cubs.
Dr. J B Askew San Diego health official will speak to local Kiwanians Thursday on the urgent need for a well stocked San Diego Community Blood Bank. Program Chairman Preston Primm introduces the speaker and welcomes former Coronado mayor Kenneth Carson who discussed social ethics last meeting.
Cord Meyer Jr. author of Peace or Anarchy will address a free public rally at 8 p.m. April 15 at the First Methodist Church Ninth Avenue and C Street San Diego. Meyer 27 a former Maine machine gun platoon leader is president of the United World Federalists advocating a UN with power to enforce peace.
