Improvement Club Holds First Regular Meeting
The Woman's Improvement club met after a Taft visit caused a one week postponement. Miss Stella Platt opened the session and Mrs S B Hampton became president. Seventy five ladies attended with a program on California highways and arts, followed by tea and piano selections.

A foothill blaze south of Corona menaces Brumier ranches after spreading from Bedford canyon to Rugby schoolhouse area. Twenty men fought flames through Sunday night and into Monday, with rangers and volunteers assisting as fires reach government reserve. Corona High Loses Season Opener 20 to 3 at Anaheim
Corona High School fell 20 to 3 to Anaheim in the opening football game played at Fullerton. Corona led 3 to 5 in the first half, but injuries to English Beebe and Corkhill weakened the lineup in the second half as Anaheim pulled away.
