Corona high school football closes its practice season preparing to face Anaheim high in Fullerton tomorrow afternoon. The team, lighter than last year yet gaining depth, features freshmen making strong debuts under Coach Scoville. Lineup projections include Feeney at center, Jameson at quarterback, Corkhill captain at left half, and Bowen at fullback, with games scheduled through December 4 against Orange Athletic Club and other opponents.

The Riverside County board met with all members present under Supervisor Shaver. A franchise for the Southern Pacific was granted after Purington pled to press local road improvements, while several bills were approved. Boundaries of the San Ignacio school district were changed, bids authorized for four miles of rock macadam west from Indio, and a horticultural ordinance discussed. The Riverside Chamber proposed eight candidates for a county good roads commission, Temecula bridge reconstruction was ordered as an emergency, Temecula Long Valley road designated a public highway with damages set at 150 dollars, and plans for a detention home near the county hospital were outlined.

Lake Will Build Salt Lake Railway Link to Daggett
The Salt Lake Railroad plans to begin the long missing link between Riverside and Daggett. Surveys finished over a year ago, but Harriman influence delayed progress on Senator Clark’s plan to extend from San Pedro to Salt Lake City. The mile hundred segment will improve grade via Cajon pass and bypass the current Santa Fe route.

Word reached Corona friends of the death in Lost Springs Kansas on October 17 of Miss Anna Morrer who formerly lived here and had been living with her later in Kansas She died of tuberculosis at her residence in Lost Springs.

Corona Grocers in Legal Tangle
Two Italian Corona grocers Salvatore Vendenti and Joseph Desparte face a continued trial before Judge Densmore over a disputed partnership. Vendenti seeks dissolution and an accounting claiming he was to be a full partner and to repay a $500 debt from profits. Desparte allegedly took control of books and store after three months. Vendenti has received only $78. Witnesses included Joseph E. Beck Tonie Giglia Tonie Giardano and Salvatore Vendenti.

City Secures Steam Roller For Street Improvements
City trustees approve the purchase of a steam roller using surplus street appropriation funds. The Monarc roller offered on lease at 500 per month for three months, with rental credited toward purchase. The machine arrived in Corona and is being unboxed for immediate use.
