Frederick F E Smith, manager of the Union Home Telephone Co., was thrown from a wagon one and a half miles northwest of the Sterling ranch. He died from the injuries suffered in the accident on Tuesday.
A wagon driven by Mr. Smith overturned shortly after the accident, causing a fractured skull and death. ES. Peabody and Hugh McCainin were aboard but unharmed. Coroner Dickson ruled the death an accident. Nephew W. C. Marble of Los Angeles arrived for the body, which will be interred there. The deceased, born in New York fifty-four years ago, had lived in California nearly four years. the body was prepared at J L Davis undertaking parlors.
