Mrs Bradford's Lemons and Wash-Navels Bring High Returns

Mrs John Bradford of Kellogg avenue reports lemons selling at 5 50 a box in New York and Wash Navels oranges fetching double that price. Snakes Take to Boats in Yuma Mine Trip Tale

Geo W VanKirk, recently to Yuma Arizona for mine work, recalls a river rise that sent boats manned by Yuma Indians to shuttle men to mines. A seven foot rattlesnake threatened the party, but swift rowing and teamwork kept them afloat and the snake swam away. VanKirk plans a return to Yuma to pursue a mine yielding 30 percent lead and 15 percent silver and gold with a bright future.

Cow Objection Delays Modern Milking Machine Picked Up At Prado

J R Newberry, Southern California grocer now settling near Corona, bought a 50 cow milking machine from Los Angeles for 150 dollars. On first use a cow kicked the device and knocked Newberry and his hired man into the barn floor, wrecking the machine. The duo are sidelined for repairs as the machine awaits another trial.

Corona area eyed for large sanatorium resort project

Promoters from Los Angeles form Citrus Belt Realty and Building Co to develop 2000 acres near Corona for a 500000 dollar sanatorium with parks, tent city, and extensive irrigation. The plan includes 150 acres lemons and 40 acres high grade oranges, water rights and a 10 inch pipeline to secure ample mountain water. Long Beach has offered cash and stock to attract the project.
