Pomona city council faces citrus growers and residents as an ordinance bans oil with more than ten percent asphalt in orchard smudge pots. Miss Reynolds Visits Grandfather on La Sierra Heights

Miss Myra Reynolds spends a few days with her grandfather on La Sierra Heights. The Rhyolite Crushed Rock company received a belt recently at the Santa Fe station described as “some belt.” It measures about half an inch thick rubber, three feet wide and weighs 2080 pounds.

May Sink New Well in Temescal

Workmen at the Ben White well in Temescal canyon plan to pull the old casing soon. Ben White from Los Angeles has visited the canyon property this week and returned home. An outward expenditure of 30000 dollars has been made, with another similar amount likely to deepen the hole or drill a new one. Oil continues to flow but is diminishing.

The Fraternal Brotherhood staged a two night benefit at La Corona theater with local talent in song and dance. Mrs. Sadie Dickinson performed The Trail of the Lonesome Pine with electric effects by Farl Potter and joined a chorus of Corona girls in A Busy Little Town. A tableau song Columbia Flag featured Miss Marie Kidder as Columbia and Dickinson as the soloist. Friday added a fancy dance by Miss Mary Warner and songs by the Aguilar sisters.

Santa Fe to Drill New Water Well in Corona

The Santa Fe line at Corona will drill another water well to meet heavy steam engine demand. Trains through Corona average 24 daily, up to 30, with water drawn from current and new pumps. A drilling outfit arrived. new machinery and a building will be added to house the wells and pumps.

First Steam Shovel In Corona Builds Bank Basement

A steam shovel began work Monday on the Citizens Bank building basement at the corner of Sixth and Ramona in Corona. Contractor G A Shelton of Riverside expects to move 10 000 yards of dirt in about fifteen days with one shovel, four trucks, and a small crew.

A Chicago man Edmund Lawrence Jacobs and Corona girl Lona Marie were married Saturday evening at the home of Mr and Mrs M Hi Bert in Corona. The quiet ceremony was performed by Rev Chester Ferris using Episcopal ring service. The couple's wedding party and guests then dined on a supper.
