A Jonesboro district conference discussion favors establishing Hendrix Academy as an auxiliary of Hendrix College. The plan would consolidate the Jonesboro Training School and raise about $10,000 for funds and a building. The academy would prepare students for Hendrix and Ouachita colleges, allowing graduates to enter the junior class at either institution.

A hard fought defeat for J B Driver is noted and plans were discussed to build twenty five miles of levee fronting Lee county this year.
A 50 year old blacksmith R Ls Moshey hanged himself in Powhatan county jail days before fatally shooting his wife. Jealousy is given as the motive. He left three children as orphans and fashioned a noose from a bed rope using matches.
