Press Association meeting and insurance bond note

The annual meeting of the Press Association at Hot Springs drew better attendance and interest. Three fraternal insurance orders will withdraw from the state rather than post a $10,000 bond, names not disclosed. The law is seen as protection against wildcat concerns.

Provisions of Thanks Adopted by Regional Railway Association

The assembly expressed gratitude to multiple railway general passenger agents including Geo. H. West and successors at Frisco and Cotton Belt lines, and to Hot Springs hotel proprietors Lyman T. Hay and Cockburn. It also thanked Ameri can Type Founders Company, Lamar bath house, Graham Paper Company via C. H. Kenedy, and several newspaper editors for papers and prints. Officers W. H. Holmes J. W. Underhill and others received praise for their efforts and addresses by W. A. H. McDaniel and G. R. Williams.

Christians to Build $74,000 Hot Springs Home

At the annual convention in Fort Smith a plan was approved to erect a $74,000 home for Christians of all denominations in Hot Springs. Those who can pay will be charged reasonable rates and those without money will receive baths and medical attention free.

Dan Mangrum surrenders after shooting injury in Danville

Dan Mangrum, who shot and seriously wounded B. N. Hill near Danville, surrendered and was exonerated at his preliminary trial. Capt. 8. E. Benson, Hempstead County citizen, committed suicide by shooting himself through the head with a revolver. The Choctaw plans a line from Little Rock to Malvern connecting with the Diamond Joe line purchased this summer.
