In Searcy Arkansas on July 25 Gov Clarke interrupted Senator Jones after his speech charging that the Round Lap Cotton Bale Company is a trust and that Jones owns $50,000 of its stock. Jones denied the claim but promised proof. Jones said the stock was held as a proxy for the real owners. Both men said the campaign had not formally opened.
Rev Johnston to Attend Methodist World Conference in London
Reverend F S H Johnston plans to leave around August 5 with family for Payetteville summer, then travel via Buffalo to view the exposition and sail to London for the conference opening September 4. Four hundred delegates attend with Arkansas sending four delegates including Johnston as one of two from America. Afterward he aims to tour Europe visiting France and Germany.
