Unusual Little Rock Trial On Anti Gambling Law

In Little Rock a saloon keeper Bob Furth was arrested for violating the anti gambling law but a Justice of the Peace jury acquitted him, ruling the law unconstitutional. State Capitol Commissioners met to decide if the Capitol can be built for not more than 1 million dollars, with about 80 thousand available now. They will refer plans to a new architect and reconvene next month to determine feasibility and possible cuts to the design.

Springfield Notes Public and high schools open summer term

The public and high school, led by W. A. Berry principal and Mrs. Ida Camp assistant, opened its summer term on Tuesday. L. F. Cureton visited Conway on Wednesday. Professor Mitchell, a Conway music teacher, bought the Loomis residence and will move to our city soon.

Faulkner Circuit Court Adjourns After Week of Activity

The Faulkner circuit court adjourned Wednesday afternoon after a session of a little over a week. Criminal docket items included Hugh Wilson fined $50 for carrying a pistol, John Harrod fined $50 for assault, Nathaniel Thompson sentenced to one year in the penitentiary, Peyton Harrell appealing a $2 fine from Conway mayor's court, and James King acquitted of murder.
