He will be buried in the soldiers’ lot at Columbia cemetery after funeral services at the M E church tomorrow at 2 PM.
E J Schlichte was acquitted in Justice Cates court of selling short measure potatoes. It was shown he only wrote a bill upon a clerk’s suggestion. Clerk Will Fell later pleaded guilty to the same charge with a $18.75 fine. Also reported death of Mrs Retherford of Alquina aged 75.
Mrs Denton Retherford died very suddenly of heart failure at her home. Funeral services will be held at Alquina on Tuesday evening. The obituary notes her as a longtime resident and beloved member of the community.
The Fayette County Medical Society met at the Commercial Club rooms this morning with ten physicians present. A paper by Dr. E. E. Hamilton was read and officers were elected.

Ludwick vice president and treasurer Dr. F. J. Spilman censor. On January 7 the society will open the four years post graduate course with lectures and a banquet.
