Wednesday morning court heard defense claim Ohio woman Esther House pursued Ryan the clairvoyant to win him for her own, while she testified she loaned him money and sought repayment. Ryan, a clairvoyant, is on trial for grand larceny but not from Connersville.
Despondent over domestic problems and upcoming trial for alleged malpractice involving Eva Sullivan, Adolph Uhly a 55 year old master carpenter for the Pennsylvania system drank carbolic acid and shot himself in his Richmond board house. He was long employed in the railroad and had been estranged from his wife who lives apart.
Modern Woodmen led a Sunday graveside decoration at 3 15 p m for deceased neighbors. J D Volz of Indianapolis spoke, Rev Smith gave prayer, and the Manlove band led the procession. Names of the honored dead include Dr Geo T McNutt B S Mariner Wm Downs John Gordon Cameron Bray Perry Ross Frank Brigg and F T Roots. Neighbor Trusler of Anderson Ind was buried in Connerville cemetery.
Mrs. E R Carson aged seventy died last Tuesday night at her Thomas farm home northwest of the city after two years of ill health. Born in 1835 at the Thomas homestead she resided on W 8th Street for many years and was a longtime member of the First M E Church. Surviving are son Charles Carson and daughter Florence who preceded her two years ago. niece Mrs. Wm Clinton cared for her during illness. Funeral Friday at First M E Church with Beech Grove Cemetery interment beside her husband.
John F. Beers aged 48 from Bloomington Ind was found dead in a Buckley Fells room after a stormy Sunday night likely from heart disease. Coroner Hamilton will hold an inquest and determine cause while Dr Hamilton investigates a report he drank. Beers worked eight weeks for W M Greggs a monument maker and left for Bloomington Sunday intending to stay with family. He was last seen about midnight Sunday and the body was found by Mr Beckett when he closed a window during the storm. Beers carried life insurance and belonged to the K of I lodge which will oversee his remains. He leaves a wife and a 16 year old daughter. He was a granite letterer by trade.
Fayette Lodge and Guttenburg Lodge I O O F urge all members to attend a decoration service next Sunday afternoon. The processions start at 1 15 PM with the High School band leading to the cemetery for graveside remarks by Rev William Spencer. A banquet hall address may occur if weather requires.

The Four-County Fair in Andersonville August 5-7 will feature Watson, Marshall, Judge Gray, Hubbard, and others from both major parties. F. Wilson Kaler, secretary and editor, notes fair concessions and a merry-go-round. The event also includes a second annual home-coming with plans to outdo last year.
The Alpine Christian church Sunday school held their Children's Day exercises last Sunday. The services were well attended and the program was enjoyed by all. The offering was larger this year and there was more enthusiasm across all parts of the church to make the event interesting.
The Board of Pension Surgeons met yesterday in Dr Chitwood's office. Attendees included John Kutzendorfer of Stipps Hill Franklin County Alfred Poursey of Rushville and John Dolan of City.
