Posey Township Schools Hold Twelfth Commencement

The Posey Township Schools conducted their twelfth annual commencement at Beetonville township hall on April 11, 1901. Despite a smaller crowd due to sickness, the program featured music, recitations, and diplomas, with speeches by Prof. W. F. L. Sanders and others praising women’s education and the nation’s duty to children.

Messersmith Holmes Wedding in East Connersville

George D. Messersmith of Columbia township married Miss Stella Holmes in East Connersville on April 10. Rev. D. T. Hedges officiated at six o'clock, six friends attended, then a reception and elegant supper at the groom's mother's home near Null town. The ceremony surprised many, but friends extend congratulations.

Birthday Anniversary Celebration Attracts Local Guests

L Thomw visiting today. J K Jonas and Mrs Jonas hosted a small gathering for the birthday anniversary. The event featured relatives and friends with music and supper, as attendees wished the celebrant many happy returns before departing for home.

Surprise closing day for Fairview District No 1 school

A week after term end in Fairview township, District No 1, pupils and patrons surprised teacher Miss Lillian Warren. Visitors arrived with baskets, shared a large dinner, and then a brief program. Pupils presented a copy of The Life of Whittier and three spelling prizes were awarded to Stella Shortridge, Mary Fitzgerald, and Nellie Shortridge. Miss Warren plans summer study at Marion.

Hiram Klum Dies in Kokomo at 80

Kokomo resident Hiram Klum died at home 158 West Walnut Street at 10 30 this morning after a prolonged illness. Born December 28 1820 in New York he moved to Indiana as a youth and later farmed before settling in Kokomo in 1869. He was married to Mary Frances Webb in 1845 and survived by five children. Funeral arrangements will be announced tomorrow.

Tax Ferret Demands Fees From Richmond City
