A special Concord meeting is announced for Monday night October 22 at the Veterans Building. The agenda includes hearing the wage and salary committee report with a full committee report due to the selectmen by October 1.

Concord officials urge motorists to heed the statute on passing a stopped school bus. The rule requires a full stop before the bus and limits speed to ten mph when passing, unless on a divided highway in the opposite direction.
The Concord Co-Operative Bank invites the public to an open house from 2 to 5 p m on Saturday at its new colonial design building across from the post office next to the Veterans Building. Built by Custance Brothers Inc Lincoln the bank offers modern facilities and marks the first local change in 30 years from 41 Main Street. The event coincides with the 94th birthday anniversary of former treasurer Benjamin Moody.
Alfred Carlson poultry specialist from Middlesex County Termion Service office of Concord spoke on the Middlesex County farm hour broadcast in Boston yesterday morning.
West Concord residents note Rev. John H. Payne has arrived at Fort Dix to begin basic infantry training with the 47th Infantry Regiment. His eight weeks cover general subjects and weapons training including rifle and machine guns, plus field tactics and bivouac experiences.
Peter Witherell won the election for senior class president at Concord High School. He is the son of Sergt. and Mrs. Marshall J. Witherell of 14 Central Street, West Concord. Other 1952 officers include Lyle Carlson vice president Lore Craig secretary Richard ur treasurer Anne Knudsen girls Athletic Association representative and Richard Lyons boys Athletic Association representative.
Eastern Standard Time goes into effect at 2 a m Sunday morning. All clocks should be turned back one hour before retiring on Saturday night. At last you can catch up on the hour of sleep you lost last April.
Concord announces the re appointment of Edward P. Chase to the Board of Appeals for a four year term. Nine associate members were named for one year terms including Ralph C., Thomas J. Hayes, Julian W. Ballou, Samuel Meliss, R. Fletcher, Reginald A. Morgan, Robert S. Hosem, Andrew Hepburn, and others.
The Concord Board of Trade will hold a fall meeting and supper on Monday night October 1 at 6 45 at the Howard Johnson restaurant. President Walter E Dow Jr will preside and the program will be announced. A good attendance is urged.
Nashoba Road couple Mr and Mrs Harry E Tuttle observed the 51st anniversary of their marriage yesterday. They wed in Concord and have lived here since. Chief Tuttle has led the local firefighters for about 30 years.
Concord Rainbow Assembly No. 53 held installation of officers at the Masonic Temple after a members’ supper. Janice Harrell retired as Worthy Advisor and Miss Jean Heyliger, a Concord High School graduate, was installed as the new Worthy Advisor with Beverly Chaffe as installing officer and other officers including Barbara Manchester and Barbara Kelly participating.
The Concord Board of Selectmen announced that the first woman juror, Mrs. Helen S. Peterson of Independence Road, was drawn at the Monday meeting at the Town House. Also drawn for jury duty were J. Mitchell Bangs of Damon Road, West Concord.
President Charles Wear chaired a Lions Club program led by Past President Rothwell N. Mac with speaker Mrs. Cora B. Watson presenting Hitch Your Wagon to a Star. Plans for the 10th anniversary party were announced for October 23 at Marlboro Country Club.
Concord high school will elect new National Honor Society members. Senior inductees include Robert Arthur Elizabeth Barrett Rich Brooks Dean Comeau Tin do nocchio Alden Fletcher Ruth Hayward Richard Lyons Linnea Swanson and Shirley Waite. Junior members will be announced later.
The first meeting of the 97th King’s Daughters season will be held at the vestry of First Parish church in Concord next Tuesday afternoon October 2 at 2 o'clock. Hostesses are Mrs. Elmer S Joslin and Mrs. Charles R Voigt.
The Concord Community Chest sets a 1951 goal of about six percent above last year's 62 000 target. Funds will aid 10 agencies including Emerson Hospital Visiting Nurse Association and Boy Scout Sponsors. The drive supports overseas Korea aid and domestic relief for dislocated economies and clothing for Koreans.
