Concord Junction Defeats Concord Centre 16 to 1 in Eight Innings
Concord Junction firemen defeated Concord Centre in an eight inning baseball game played Wednesday evening September 20. Hartnett hit a home run for the Centre and the Junction lineup featured Akers Carroll Reiley Lawrence Hartnett Wallace MacLean Shellac Ryan while Hartnett fanned 16 to lead the Junction to a dominant 16 to 1 victory. Pholen Lemieux wife of Joseph Lemieux died suddenly at her home in Concord on Tuesday September 19 at age fifty six. A requiem mass was held by Father Ryan at St Bernard's Church on Thursday morning September 21, and interment followed in the family lot at St Bernard's cemetery with bearers James Finan John Hanley James Powers and Robert Woodlock.
