Concord School Plans Kinder Transportation Trial

At the meeting on the fifteenth the Concord School committee discussed starting a trial program to transport kindergarten pupils until a formal plan is known. If approved, a limited schedule will begin Monday with two buses covering routes along Hawthorne old road Virginia Street Strawberry Hill Potter Street Powder Mill Road to Nine Acre hospital and Peter Bulkeley area. Dr Palfrey Perkins Church will host a luncheon after the session.

Concord Community Chest Campaign Sets 1948 Drive Dates

Concord and West Concord prepare for the 1948 1949 Community Chest drive from October 22 to November 1 under General Chairman George R. Walker with a full solicitor organization to be announced. Campaign HQ will be in the old Concord High School building on Stow Street under Mrs. Dora Moss supervision and the local number is Concord 1650.

Resigning Minister to Leave West Concord Church

At West Concord Union Church morning service Rev Earl Sweatland announced his resignation after serving since September 1946. He will relocate to Maine with his wife and two children to be nearer her ill mother. he has been active in church and community and is an officer in the Concord Lions Club.
