Concord Public Schools Enrollment Reaches 1498 in 1951

Supt. Radcliffe Morrill reports 1951 enrollment of 1498 on Monday, up from 1453 a year earlier. Kindergarten enrollment rose from 103 to 133, prompting a new teacher for the class taught by Harriet Helsher. Junior and senior high grades are crowded. officials are adjusting routes and schedules to meet needs.

New Nurses Aides Course Opens in Concord

The Concord Chapter of the American Red Cross starts a new nurses aides training course on Monday September 24. The Concord Red Cross disaster appeal has collected 988 for midwestern flood relief, well below the 2500 goal. Appeal Chairman Robert Shaw called the shortfall disappointing but noted some communities were less generous than Concord.
