Fragmented text recounts a town meeting with talk of a wage committee and votes on sine articles. Mentions a Community Chest meeting, First Parish, and a concert at Symphony Hall next Wednesday. Terse, garbled OCR hints at parish, school, and political topics.
The note says a Fourth Degree ceremony is planned for November with Past Grand Knight in attendance. Officers will conduct the degree and refreshments will be served after the event at 8 p.m. on Tuesday night at Manu Hall No 287.
The Alpha Upsilon Chapter Beta Sigma member initiation occurred at Concord Bank social room ending at eight o'clock. Last Thursday Miss Mary and Mrs Betty Horne assisted with refreshments for the event.
An all you can eat morgasbord supper is scheduled at the Finnish Evangel Church on Street Maynard AY. The event runs October 27 from 2:30 PM to 7 PM with tickets priced at 99 cents. Proceeds support church activities.
At the first report meeting on Monday October 22 at Middlesex Fire Insurance Company captains and solicitors presented progress toward a $65 500 coal quota. About 45 percent of the 1951 quota was reported with John J Flynn and J Marble Thayer leading their sections. Several others topped 40 percent as the drive continues with next report nights set for October 29.
Concord. Peter Bulkeley announces eight junior high pupils will perform in the Concord school band concert in November. In eighth grade Janet Magoon plays in a clarinet quartet, seventh grader Sybil Moore in a clarinet quartet, George Harms in a saxophone trio, Emily Rideout Dorothy Bowering and Elizabeth Ogilvie in a trumpet trio. Thomas Mudgett will perform a horn solo and Allen Williamson will also play.
Evangelical Free church will not hold a mid week service on October 31 to allow attendance at a World Evangelical Fellowship meeting at Park Street Church Boston. Dr Oswald Smith and Lieut Gen Sir Arthur Smith are scheduled to speak at 7 30 p m.
Bruce Old, chairman of Concord reach, claims the hat quota will be met before Lawton. George says he is fine with that as he needs the hat after losing his last summer and his team will reach the quota first.
Concord's Community Chest campaign directs 38 cents of each dollar to Emerson Hospital Visiting Nurse Association and Concord Friendly Aid Society. The trio provide medical care nursing services and confidential home support to relieve human suffering in Concord and surrounding towns.
The first meeting of The Voice of Christian Youth a monthly rally for young people will be at the Evangelical Free Church Longstreet Saturday November 3 at 7 30 p m Participating groups include Acton Bedford Carlisle Chelmsford Concord Groton Harvard Hudson Shirley and Stow Guest speaker will be Rev Charles Massey pastor of Arlington Heights Baptist Church formerly Carlisle Congregational Church
On Sunday October 28 Reformation Sunday Rev Robert H Barber of the Trinitarian Church will preach Are You a Protestant at the 11 a.m. service. At 7 30 p m Rev Karlton Johnson who spent 20 years in Africa will speak to the Young People's Fellowship with Carlisle Congregational Church guests.
Concord Lions Club celebrated its 10th anniversary with nearly 100 attendees at a Tuesday night ladies high affair held at Metis cover. Al Miller led community singing as Rotary Club presented a bouquet and a flag. Robert B. Lortz chaired the program and 12 charter members were noted. George Graham’s Boston orchestra provided music and telegrams from key organizers were read by Rothwell N. MacRae.
Trinity church members reserve Friday November 9 for an all parish Thanksgiving dinner. The event features a Celestial Quartette and other special acts. A parish member donates turkeys for Thanksgiving and all proceeds fund the new parish house building fund.

West Concord firemen from West Concord and Central Station were summoned early Sunday afternoon for a gas seepage at a refrigerator owned by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mauro on Water Street. Mrs. Mauro was partially overcome. firefighters arrived quickly with an inhalator and were praised for their cooperation.
Trinity Episcopal Church Concord observes All Saints Day on Thursday November first with Holy Communion at 7 a m and 10 30 a m Bible study at 3 p m and a prayer group at 3 45 p m plus the women's auxiliary work session.

The Middlesex Teachers Association plans its 97th annual convention on Friday November 2 at Mechanics Hall Boston with local teachers attending. Concord public schools will close that day to permit attendance. Morning speakers include Karl Strickland and Dr. Harold C Hunt from Chicago. Afternoon exhibit showcases educational books and classroom materials.
Mothers of pupils at Rose Hawthorne School plan a Friday morning food sale for November 2 at 9 30 at the Lawton Appliance Co store on Walden Street. All are welcome to attend.
