A local bakery touts its wide range of breads pies and cakes claiming to offer wholesome appetizing foodstuffs. The advert invites customers to sample a loaf tread pie roll or cake and leave the decision to them with a pledge to abide the result.
Maynard C D Holmes attended a Boston food fair. Burlington visitor Johningham spent Sunday in town. Frank Knight moved his family from Portland Missouri to town. Local clubs and events include the M B church junior league Friday at 4 30 PM and the Twilight club season finale dinner at Lake Boon.
Sudbury on Cornwallis Day sees the Way side Inn D A R members tour the Old Town Bridge area with Mrs Lauretta Bent Felch giving a sketch of the river crossing and its bridges since 1643. They visit graves of Concord men slain in 1676 and hear about the first church site. The regent and attendees discuss Cornwallis Day and notable local sites including the Walker Garrison House and the old pound, Reeves Tavern, and ancient mile markers. The day ends with reflections on local history and preservation efforts.
In New York on October 23, officer Eugene Sheehan was shot in the right eye and killed instantly by a one armed man. The suspect was captured after a chase of several blocks through Chat ham square.
Concern Junction, Walter A Wright is again on the sick list. A F Adams has held out to a Wal tham concern. Dr W F Davis office will be closed until Nov 6. Miss Ethel G Blossom is visiting Miss Eva Blaisdell of Ariington. A large party from the Junction attended the food fair Thursday. Dr Winfield Foster of Oakland spent Sunday with J D Wilson and family. George F Knowles was guest of Winslow Russell of Hartford Conn Thursday. Mrs Myra Foster of Norway Me is spending several weeks with Mrs J D Wilson. Benjamin Derby Jr and family spent several days with Mr and Mrs Winslow Russell, Hartford Conn. Coggins McNallys orchestra will furnish music for a social dance in Association hall Wednesday night Oct 30. The tomato fields of the Cowdry present an animated sight the crop ripening fast and calling for pickers. Adams Bridges are improving their store with a new front. Miss Jessie Brown obtained leave of absence as teacher in West Concord school due to ill health and with her sisters sailed for Havana Friday. The Republican candidate for senator George W Taylor of Lexington met voters in Warner hall Wednesday evening. Senator John J Mitchell of Marlboro is a candidate for reelection.
Miss Margaret BE Marshall and Miss Jeanette Wright of Rockland visit Mrs. Wilfred Wheeler on Sudbury road. Brown sisters plan to spend winter in Havana. Spanish War veterans to attend a Yeunton banquet for the 6th regiment in Bouton. Concord Woman's Club hosts a rummage sale ending with an auction led by John W. Raymond. Michael O'Brien and Jerry Cutler suffer a broken ankle unloading flour. First Parish to hold vesper service with contralto Louise Bruce Brooks and violinist Philip Morrison. Mrs. Elizabeth Tolman dies at 72. funeral at Sleepy Hollow. Christian Science lecture by Edward A. Kimball of Chicago in town hall.
