Delegates Thomas H. Hillis and James F. Sweeney attended the Republican Sen atorial convention in Framingham with Hillis presiding. The new school building foundation advances rapidly weather permitting. The Singer Machine Co reports new machines via agent H J Smalley. Post office term expires this year amid circulating petitions for a vacancy. Community notices cover lodge resolutions in memory of Edith Warren and Magdalen Chapter Eastern Star activities. Town building projects, Riverside block, Loewe building, Main street mill complex, Assabet mills growth plans, and a special Maynard town meeting set for bond considerations on water financing with a four thousand dollar addition to be issued under 1890 Act.
Acton notices report on local moves and visits including O L Dart on duty C W Chadwick in Weymouth and Conductor Philbrick on vacation. Harvest concert and basket social set for School Street rooms. Dem convention selects Captain Handley for representative honors. Families welcome births arrivals and relocations as community details unfold.
Fourth Middlesex Senatorial District Republicans chose E W Rice of Sudbury for the state central committee at last Saturday's South Framingham gathering. Town teachers receive Friday October 30 as a holiday to attend the Middlesex County Teachers Association convention. A special town meeting voted to build a new East Sudbury school in the Landham area to replace the fire-destroyed building, with Francis F Walker Henry N Smith and Nahum Goodnow named to locate a suitable site and report progress at the next adjourned session, when funding may be approved.
The Sons of the American Revolution hold their semi annual meeting in Faneuil Hall Boston on Friday. Members may invite ladies and a forenoon tour of nearby sites precedes a banquet at one o clock. Post banquet speeches and music close the event led by committee chairman L L Tarbell.
The Ladies G A R Independent Auxiliary Association will hold its fourth semi annual convention in Hudson on October 22 starting at 10 a m and continuing through the day A basket picnic is planned at noon All G A R societies or corps in Massachusetts independent of the state Department and auxiliary to their Post are invited to attend
The Middlesex South Conference of Churches will hold its fall session at the Dover Congregational Church in Dover Massachusetts. Rev. A H Tyler pastor will preside on Tuesday October 20.
