Concord Teachers Club to Offer 15 Lectures on International Affairs

Dr. Ruhl J. Bartlett of Tufts College will lead a 15 lecture program on international affairs sponsored by the Concord Teachers' Club. Sessions run Wednesdays in the High School Auditorium from October 27, with a small fee for the full course. Looologist to Present Film on Antarctic Expedition

A public illustrated address will feature Dr Perkins detailing the second Buff Antarctic expedition. The Concord Garden Club held its annual meeting at 3 PM yesterday at Mrs Buckley Wheeler’s home. Nominating chair Mrs Robert J M Bowen announced nominees and officers were elected for the year including vice president Mrs Richard Jene and recording secretary Mrs Edward Morse Jr. Board members include Mrs Wheeler, Mrs Berkeley Wheeler, Mrs Henry Keyes, and others. Widow H. W. Brown Led Concord Firm and Parish Life

Mrs. Brown a longtime Concord business leader born 1859 in Connecticut advanced to president of the B. W. Brown Company, sold the business in 1917, and remained active in horticulture and the First Parish Church. The Rev. Phineas B Kennedy from Kortcha Albania will preach at 10:45 a m Sunday at West Concord Union Church. He and his wife are touring the United States after recently arriving from Albania. Longtime Concord resident Miss Mary Keating dies at home

Miss Mary Keating, respected Concord citizen, died at home Tuesday morning. Daughter of John and Mrs Keating, she lived abroad twice in service of a lady. Survived by nephews Edward Mara of Lexington James J Mara and Frank L Mara of Concord and niece Mrs Bernard McGrath. Funeral services were held at St Bernard Church today.

Prisoners Escape From Massachusetts Reformatory

Two inmates at the Massachusetts State Reformatory escaped Tuesday around 11 80 a.m. while on outside duty. Adrien Raymond, 19, of 195 Lowell Street, Bristé Superior Court convict, and Antony Britto, 18, of 9 Curtis Street Salem, both serving five year indeterminate sentences for larceny and related offenses, were last seen headed toward the woods. Acton officers and dozens of state guards swarmed the area, inspecting vehicles and area woods as searches continued.
