Maynard Council Knights of Columbus held a communion service at 8 30 a m at St Bridget s church and a breakfast at Odd Fellows hall at 10 a m with a program led by toastmaster James B Farrell G K Rev Walter Roche offered felicitations. Thomas J. Gately Jr. 40 of Great Road Mass. died Saturday at Massachusetts General Hospital after weeks of illness. He leaves wife Catherine sons Thomas and Edmund, parents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gately, a sister in New York. He helped organize Maynard Lodge BPOE and belonged to Maynard Council K of C and Holy Name Society. Funeral was on Tuesday at St. Bridget's Church with a solemn high mass. Rev. Walter Roche presided. Burial followed at St. Bridget's Cemetery.

Susan R. Nutting aged 85 died at her daughter Adelaide Carlton's home 54 Summer street after a long illness. Born in Quincy she lived in Maynard nine years and is survived by her son red cutting of this town. After a short service at the home Saturday forenoon the cortege went to Quincy for funeral at John Hall Chapel at two. Interment followed at Mt Wallaston cemetery Quincy.
