The transfer of Fr Francis D Chmaj from St Hedwicks Cambridge to assist Rev Michael J Burke at Dorchester’s Holy Redeemer Church was announced after Sunday masses. Fr Gillis, who came from St Inn Sieh Kingston, moves to a larger parish as Rev Ri Cushing reports.
Construction begins on an addition to the nave of the church providing 47 extra seats. A south end vestibule will form a main River street entrance. Lawson W. Oakes Inc of Boston won the bid to build with Frank S. Owens as architect. Services will continue during work and nearby St. Annes parish in South Lincoln offered their church for use. Expected completion by September.
Concord Massachusetts clerk Williams departs for a two week visit to Los Angeles to settle business affairs. He will return May 27 as substitute clerk Donahue fills in at the Concord court.

The training includes six weeks at Household Nursing Newbury Street focusing on mother and infant care and aging expectations within the program.
