Maynard high school prom set for June 6 at Colonial Hall with an orchestra. Admission by ticket. The High School Athletic Association presents The Sheik's Wife at the People's Theatre Wednesday evening, May 24 as a benefit moving picture show.
Rev Alfred Wheeler Stone will preach Sunday morning on Vision and lead an evening service at 7. Other services follow usual hours with a midweek session Tuesday at 7 30. The topic is Spreading Arc of Redemption.
Mr and Mrs Walter Murray rejoice at the arrival of a baby boy named John in Fitchburg. All former residents were guests during the week of Mr A J Hicks.
Vacations noted for Sen Carrot and duties at Sam D Cross store. Miss Alice Jones and Miss Thomas Behne tied to Concord scenes. Sine Howard P Swift to live at 10 Belknap Street, Mrs Dustan occupying half the same house. Mrs ce G Thomas of Creek NY and her daughter linked to local addresses. Emerson School of Oratory features Miss Behne and Miss Gravesen visited with Miss Rogers in Concord schools.
At 12 46 on Thursday morning the Concord fire department answered Box 41 an out of town call to West Acton. Firemen fought a stubborn blaze at the Piven King Company garage a Main Tian property sustaining damage to a large hotel a dwelling and another building with real estate losses estimated near 25000. Return to Concord was around 3 15 AM.
A major blaze in West Acton swept through Windson Avenue destroying a garage large barn hotel and two tenement houses owned by H E B Mead and another two tenements owned by F R Knowlton. Fire crews from Acton Concord Maynard and South Acton joined to halt the flames as sparks threatened surrounding properties. Continued on Page Eight.
Lady Warwick and D. of St. G. presided over a successful whist party at Eagles Hall on Thursday evening. Prizes awarded included ladies first Miss Beatrice Cuttell, second Mrs. Joseph Brown, and consolation to Mrs. Wilson Cuttell. for the men Jesse Billet won first, Nathaniel Davis second, and William Oates consolation. Ice and cake were served after games, with arrangements by Job Dodl, Mrs. John Bamford, and M Lillian Stokes.
On Saturday evening May 20 at Eaton hall in the Concord High School building William Lincoln Smith of Concord will speak before Concord Radio Club members. The subject is New time and the ground rules for radio operation.
