Maynard E Newell died at his daughter Flora M Babb's home 17 Prospect Street after a short illness. A Green Maine native 55, he was a carpenter by trade and survived by wife Edith I Newell a daughter and a Rhode Island based step son Warren A Twombly with several siblings in Maine and Rhode Island. Parish Whist Big Success at St Bridget’s Benefit
Maynard parish whist social at the Cooperative Hall for St Bridget’s parish raised spirits and funds. Miss Annie Duggan led the effort with assistants while awards honored many players for high scores and consolation. Fires Cause 350000 Damage Across New England
Fires in several New England locations caused over 350000 dollars in damage and killed a 60 year old woman, Miss Alice Emerson of Winchester Massachusetts, at a sanitarium in Sanford Connecticut.
