The Concord Garden Club will plant dogwood trees in prominent town centers and two weeping willows at the railroad station to replace lost trees. The project aims to make the hardy tree a distinctive feature of Concord’s landscape with cooperation from nearby landowners. The conservation committee directs the work, chaired by Mrs. William M. Cole and including Mrs. Henry Brooks Mrs. Henry B. Bigelow Mrs. Herbert B. Hosmer and Mrs. Richard B. Hobart.
Concord remembers Hapgood Wright during the Tercentenary. William H. Wright dies at home in Marlboro after winter illness. Survived by daughter Mrs. Jaworek Jeanette K. Wright, sons Edward F. Wright and Joseph K. Wright, seven grandchildren, and four Kennedy brothers. Burial in Sleepy Hollow cemetery after requiem mass at Our Lady Help of Christians West Concord.
The Concord Sumime Playground Committee unanimously reappoints Milton Paine as Supervisor of the Concord and West Concord Playgrounds for eight weeks from June 28 to August 23. Applicants for the playgroup leader post at 15.00 per week must send a letter detailing qualifications to Miss Anne Root by May 12 to the Playground Recreational Instruction Committee in Concord Massachusetts.
Concord Play ers praise a new mystery drama adapted by M St. Clare Byrne from Dorothy Sayres. The play presents all clues and motives openly to the audience before the denouement. Tickets and further details available at local drug store and confectionery outlets.
Concord event by Troops 2 and 49 drew 185 attendees for a turkey supper to fund a World Peace Trip. A Court of Honor followed in the church hall where Commissioner Wifet. R.ee awarded badges to Troop 31 and Troop 49 Scouts, marking anniversaries and charter milestones.
Funeral services were held yesterday morning for Mrs Annie T Nee at her home on Lawsrock Road West Concord. A high mass was celebrated at Our Lady Hall Christians Church, with burial at St Bridget's Cemetery Maynard. Mrs Nee's husband John M Nee, longtime officer at the Massachusetts Reformatory, survives with two sons and two daughters.
The Concord Young Republican Club prepares for its annual banquet at the Girl Scout House on Idens Street. Tickets are available through club members. Boston Globe feature writer Joseph Dineen will be the sole speaker. political speeches are barred. Several prominent Republicans will attend. Entertainment plans remain to be announced.

James H Finigan of Concord died after stopping his bus to save sixteen children as a freight train approached. A public school memorial service was held with a full mass at St Bernard's Church and a school-wide minute of silence observed on May 1 1939.
Union Church in West Concord lists weekly services and programs led by Kenneth R. Teed with Sunday worship at 10:45 and Sunday school for various ages plus midweek activities. Concord's David Williams elected assistant treasurer of the Massachusetts Council of Young Republican Clubs at a Springfield convention, with Otis M. and Herbert B. Hosmer also attending.
Concord recruits, 18 plus and fit, are urged to join Lt John A Hutchinson for summer Army maneuvers in New York as two divisions and provisional troops prepare a large training series. The Armory offers information Mondays and Thursdays with free clothing and equipment. no fee to join.

Enos Held gave a successful debut recital in Jordan Hall Boston Sunday evening April with a large audience including the High School Orchestra and Club directors. He sang with warmth and clear diction, especially in Italian and German songs and offered a well chosen final group of English and American sea songs.
Miss Louise Genetti of Bedford marries Joseph L. Rogers of Somerville in a nuptial mass at St. Michael’s Church. Rev James J Walsh officiates. Bridesmaids wear pastel shades, flower girl Anna Genetti and Maid of Honor Lena Genetti. The couple will reside in Somerville after a wedding trip to New York.
The Sudbury Wanis will entertain 13 clubs at the interc t meeting to be held Monday evening May 8 at the Davis Turkey Farm Inn on the Post Road.
A hearing before Judge Howard A Wilson in Concord District Court is set to decide whether an inquest into the death of bus driver James H Finigan will be held. The 3 46 PM collision with a freight train at Commonwealth Avenue left Finigan severely injured. witnesses disagree on gate status as the bus waited near Hogan's Spa and the train passed. The inquest, if held, would determine possible criminal charges arising from the incident.
