Tipsy Driver Stalls On Tracks Delays Trains In Concord
John Smith Jr. 57 of Box 45 Easton pleaded guilty in Concord District Court to driving under the influence after mounting B and M and New Haven railroad tracks in West Concord. He paid a $100 fine on the driving charge. the drunkenness count was filed by Judge Pierre A. Northrup. Police said he drove from Maynard onto Route 62 then Commonwealth Avenue and onto the tracks, halting two trains and narrowly avoiding disaster.
