The Middlesex County Extension service will present Mrs Esther Cooley Page Extension specialist in clothing at the University of Massachusetts She will summarize a program on Short Cuts and Speed Tricks in Finishes.
Miss Betty Wright of 10 West Street West Concord was appointed assistant secretary to the vice president and treasurer of the Policy Holders at the American Mutual Liability Insurance Company in Boston. She also graduated last Sunday from the Academy Moderne with a mark of 100 percent to be a model.
West Concord hosts a sound motion picture The Great Commandment on Good Friday at 7 45 p m in Union Church. The film emphasizes Jesus words Love Thy Neighbor and shows the impact of his teachings on people's lives inviting all to attend.
West Concord I C O F members hear Middlesex County District Attorney George E. Thompson of Melrose tonight at Odd Fellows hall. The program after the business session led by Noble Grand George H. Fenton includes Thompson on his experiences. Refreshments follow. hall opens to the public at 8.
At the Harvey Wheeler School West Concord Troop 43 led by John H Duston hosted Troop 27 of Lincoln led by Joseph O Reilly. Informal skits and competitive events were staged and West Concord will visit Troop 27 in Lincoln soon.
Mrs Julia Finan, wife of Patrolman James E Finan Jr, 25 Everett Street, has returned home after a three week stay at a Boston hospital where she underwent an operation.
Widespread interest drives brisk ticket demand for the anniversary ball set for April 18 at the State Armory. Committee chair Stuart W. Cook notes tickets are limited to Armory capacity and Ruby Newman leads an 18 piece orchestra for Concord, countering reports of Arlington and Lexington appearances.
Concord Colonel Otis M. Whitney of the 182nd Infantry Massachusetts National Guard was among visiting officers at the recent inspection show held at Fort Devens.
Concord high seniors defeat faculty members 61 to 37 at Hunt Gymnasium. Charlie Sawyer led with 22 points, George Moreau added 14. Walter Carew and Ken Creighton topped the teachers with nine points each.
