William Boicourt presides as Myrtle Annis Scott performs a chapel recital on Thursday under the Ladies Benevolent Society. Sunday morning speaks on The Democracy of Heaven and evening Palestine views depict The Good Samaritan with illustrated hymns on screen.
The Men’s Fraternal league held a well attended meeting at the vestry of the Congregational church last week. A speaker from the Men’s League of the Pilgrim church Roxbury addressed the gathering, after which all leagues were patterned. A luncheon was served under George Har’s direction.
John O Leary president of the Maynard Baseball association issues a call for a mass meeting of fans at the Masonic hall on Thursday March 30 Reports from officers will be read and several circulated charges will be aired at the gathering.
Actoy Chapter Universalist Comrades met at the First Universalist church social rooms last week with supper at seven. Boston speaker William R. Thomson addressed aims of the new group including a memorial church in Washington and a boys home in Japan. President Karl R. Jones presided and an entertainment committee was appointed for April.
Charles 8 O Connor of the Boston School board spoke Sunday afternoon at Concord Junction Holy Name society addressing a large audience on Christian citizenship. He tied citizenship to religious morality and urged a return to God for guidance to improve world conditions. The hour and twenty minute discourse drew strong applause and left listeners moved and engaged.
Miss Agnes Holden visits her brother Granville Holden for a week. John P. Bowditch of Millwood Farm Framingham and Mrs Bowditch Alice Bradford sail on the 8.8 Olympic for a short journey through England and France. He has business to transact and will be away about six weeks.
A mammoth rummage sale will be held in the Town Hall, Concord, on Thursday, April 27, for the joint benefit of Radcliffe and Simmons colleges. Mrs Hang. W. Miller chairs Radcliffe affairs with a large committee. Mrs George S. Keyes heads Simmons with her committee. Residents are urged to donate jewelry, bric a brac, and house furnishings to support the two institutions.
The Women's Parish Association and Laymen's League of the Unitarian church joined for an evening of good food and a program. Rev. Minot Simons stressed religious truth, and Rev. Loren B. Macdonald spoke. 161 attendees included 114 women and 47 men. Junior Alliance helpers served. Lars Anderson marked his 51st birthday and noted his long tenure in the grocery business.
House at Acton of Brookline plans a fifty room building named Acton Rent House on the burned site near Acton Road to Lowell. Mr. Bragg says the entire property will be leased to private parties for a period of years. The project promises a view of the surrounding countryside.

William Bryans aged 31 died at his daughter Mrs. Francis Johnston's home at 53 McKinley Street after a general decline. He formerly lived in Enfield and resided with his daughter for four months. Survived by two daughters, five sons, 24 grandchildren, six great grandchildren. Funeral Monday at 1.30 p m at the Methodist Episcopal church conducted by Rev David M Angell. Burial in Glenwood cemetery.
